Re: Travelling again

More and more to see. Looks more like a world wide trip, rather than Australia.

Good to put faces to your names.

Really like the illuminations on the Church. Fabulous wildlife shots.

I am enjoying your trip, as much as you are.

Some superb work....
Have a look here
My favourites were The Screaming and Posing Black Fronted Dotterels

Re: Travelling again

Have now left Australia. Landed in Auckland a couple of hours ago and start a small tour of the North Island tomorrow.

You'll have to check out my website to find out what this is

Re: Travelling again

What can I say ? Simply fabulous, Rab.

So enjoying sharing your trip with you. Your really getting about there and making the most of your trip.

Liked the aquarium photos, and in particular the Dugong. HMB Endeavour and HMAS Onslow were of particular interest to me. You photographed them well.

Green with envy when I saw the beach scenes and the weather. Could do with a couple of weeks of that myself.

The shells of the War Memorial look enormous.

Now looking forward to your adventures in Auckland.

Re: Travelling again

A great series of pix added to your trip Rab - impressive.

I think a number of us are quite jealous of the weather you have encountered so far - it has been quite cold and drab here.

Thanks again and looking forward to more.

Re: Travelling again

I regularly look at your blog, to see the latest photos, when I saw the Kingfisher.
Looking at the beak, it looked more like a Kookaburra....

So decided to google it. Turns out that Kookaburras are Kingfishers

I learn something every day.

Some years back. I was with an Australian wildlife photographer. He said that no kingfisher was as pretty as the British Kingfisher.

I like the landscape around the estuary there, Rab.

Wow ! Hobbiton

I bet that is a busy tourist location. The building actually look well built, and not just sets.

I would have to have gone in too.

Yes kookaburras are kingfishers but Australian. This one was the sacred kingfisher of New Zealand.

All the Hobbit holes are facades. Even Bag End was only 2 metres deep so that a film crew could get inside to film the outside view.

Glad you are still finding it of interest. We are having a great time

Another great set - thanks for posting them. Very much like the family pic above.
Pleasing to learn the facts you have set out above - more please.
