Wireless Speakers for PC

I have a surround system for my computer, but would like to get rid of all the spaghetti.

A couple of little wireless speakers would suit me fine, but I know nothing about compatibility.

I have a Medion MD8828 Vista Home computer.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Re: Wireless Speakers for PC

If you go to our Amazon shop:

http://dpnow.com/store-uk.html

Click on the Amazon logo and then search for wireless speakers you will find that there is a wide selection starting from about £50.

You will have a choice of proprietary wireless and Bluetooth. Here is a review of some Bluetooth speakers from a reputable Bluetooth specialist brand, called Parrot:

Unfortunately, these are not available via Amazon UK.

Remember that your speakers will either need to be charged periodically or plugged into the mains supply wherever they are situated.

If you are going for the Bluetooth option, you will need to check if your PC has Bluetooth already or buy a Bluetooth USB adapter if not already supplied.

I'm sceptical of any real benefits to be gained Audrey. These sort of speakers are hardly the same as surround sound IMO. Also you could be entering a minefield with bluetooth and consequently they could be a disappointment. Personally I might go for some small 2.1 speakers from Creative or similar.

for example. Put 2 behind your monitor and the woofer on the floor under the desk. Its worked for me for years

Re: Wireless Speakers for PC

Don't worry Audrey, Windows Vista now has very good Bluetooth support and if you get stuck, I'm sure we will be able to help

Re: Wireless Speakers for PC

Phew! Thanks Ian, I was feeling quite worried. This forum is fantastic, it usually sorts things out for me.

However, ... ... ... as Patrick said, he had to take his computer back to factory settings after having been using C Cleaner. Even that would not work for me and it has had to go back to Medion for repair. Hence the clear out and decoration of the study now everything is disconnected.

Once again when I saw all those wires attached to the Speaker system, I thought "Enough's enough!" I have advertised them along with a still boxed Medion Graphic Tablet, which I could not get on with.

I spoke to Medion this morning and my computer has been repaired and will be delivered within the next couple of days (they picked it up last Friday). The guarantee is for 3 years and I am half way through this warranty period.

Thanks again.
