Post Thoughts on Sony A65/77

Hello,

I have been looking at the specs of both cameras and really like it. For those who have had a chance using either camera and other camera brands can you comment on the image quality of the Sony compare to Canon and Nikon, assume the same settings and lens choice are used?

I have seen photos taken from the 60D or D7000 and the image quality/sharpness is quite amazing. Compare to a few photos taken from the Sony they are great but I am not sure I see the same sharpness as I see with the Canon/Nikon. Your thought?

When I tested A77 I was happy with the image quality but I did not have an opportunity to compare side by side with other cameras. The camera itself is very impressive - great viewfinder and the best articulating screen yet, and plenty of controls. By far, in my mind, the best Sony system camera to date.

Re: Thoughts on Sony A65/77

Hi Jimmy, I know you have wondered if the A77 would match up to a Canon EOS-5D Mark II which isn't that much more expensive. Well, DxOMark rate the sensors of the two cameras very closely in terms of dynamic range and colour sensitivity. The Canon rates better in terms of noise, but the A77 isn't bad in that respect. The A77 is also a faster shooter and basically a much more up to date camera. You have the same sensor as the A77 in your own A65, so I think you should be pleased about that. In the end these are all very good cameras. I would concentrate on taking some pictures and of course showing them here
