Canon Software and Mac

Just taken delivery of a new i-Mac and discovered to my horror that the Canon software that came with my new 7D isn't compatible with OS Mountain Lion 10.8. Canon Website says it is coming soon!

So I have a new computer but have to do my Canon image imports via my old Vista Laptop?

Not sure how it will work but I'll give it a go. Just letting everybody know that this is a problem.

David

Re: Canon Software and Mac

Hi

Out of interest what are you using the canon software for? I am long time canon shooter 5d, 5d2, and the 5d3 and a mac user but never used the canon software.
Best regards

Josh

The computer will not recognise the camera to enable any downloads.

A card reader would solve your problem, I never use the software from camera makers, I have never found it very good and invariably very slow.

My method has been for years to download via a card reader directly into a folder named and dated via Lightroom. Works a treat for me.

Re: Canon Software and Mac

Thanks got it.

i use a memory card reader attached to the mac. Never needed the canon software. I just copy the files to the hard drive from the memory card and then import into Lightroom.

Hope you find a solution.

Blimey should have read the thread first. Then wouldn't have bothered posting as Patrick said it all faster than I did.
