Macro with the Canon EF 40mm f2.8 pancake.

Not having had the Canon EF 40mm f2.8 Pancake lens for very long and with the weather being too awful to do much outside, I thought I'd try a bit of macro using the Opteka 10x HD Macro attachment. The combination seems to be viable especially as it is short enough for the Canon 7D on-board flash to be used without any lens shadow.

Just a couple from a short session:

The inner sanctum of a Winter Pansy

A tiny spider with a body length of only 2.5mm

Fairly large crops and taken at f22, the spider could probably have been taken with a wider f stop.

The Opteka made a very good job of them both

Can't fault these, the 40mm is obviously a very sharp lens to start with.
