The live performance in front of Buckingham Palace wasn't very good, it has to be said. For me the show was stolen by Madness and 'Our House' combined with that awesome projector display (30 projectors and the project was started and finished in just three weeks).
What grabbed me about the video was the involvement of so many people from around the Commonwealth - young and old and, especially, the really cute African girl who did the solo bits. She might not have ever seen a pair of headphones before she became involved. It was a visionary project by Gary Barlow and the scenes in the video were beautifully filmed and produced. Just loved the blind guy (Australian Aborigine?) playing a right handed guitar upside down with his left hand
. Yes, it's sentimental and a bit gooey, but sometimes we need things like this to remind us of what's positive about life.
