The FX01 screen is good, but not really superior to its better rivals. Bottom line is you won't regret the FX01. I haven't tried the Sony, so can't judge it personally.

Re: Compact Digital Camera

I had used a Nikon P7000 Camera and i happy to use it.And it has some very nice features like Image quality is amazing for a point and shoot like. It is very well equipped camera. The JPGs out of this camera are super clean and nice. Nikon Coolpix P7000 is supported by a wide-angle zoom Nikkor lens with a 7.1x focal range of between 28 and 200 mm (24◊36 format) system with optical vibration reduction (VR). Two ED glass and the new system

That 'review' in the site you have linked to seems to be an extension of Nikon's press release for the camera.

I hope you aren't representing 'hubpages' because we don't take kindly to even subtle spammers trying to steal traffic from other sites.

Re: Compact Digital Camera

I realize this is an old thread but wanted to throw in my two cents. For Christmas I bought my wife a Canon SD1400is. When skiing, snowboarding, or biking it's a lot easier to carry than my DSLR. The shot below was taken with it recently. Other than converting it to B&W it's untouched.

Yes the SD1400 is an interesting and very slim compact camera, but reviews I have read suggest the extra couple of megapixels over the 12MP SD1200 have been detrimental to image quality.

Re: Compact Digital Camera

I recently splashed out on a Panasonic Lumix FS11. Small, compact, but 14.1 megapixels and pretty good all round.
Bought it for the misus when we go on our walking holidays, and even she can use it easily

Re: Compact Digital Camera

Here are two shots taken at the exact same instant. It was at the awards ceremony at the NASTAR National Ski and Snowboard Championships in Colorado in March. US Olympic team member Steve Nyman had just awarded me a medal and was presenting a certificate announcing I would be competing the next day in the Race of Champions. I couldn't resist the urge to snap a shot of him and the crowd. Someone in the crowd snapped the top shot at the identical time. The wife's little pink Canon did pretty good job.

Love it! Being there at the right place and the right time - and no faffing around with a big 'ol DSLR, just point and shoot!
