Adobe creative cloud

I'm not entirely sure I understand the full benefited of the system.

Do you have to buy CS6 and join Adobe creative cloud for its benifits, or simply join and pay the monthly subscription and get the use of CS6 while paying the subscription?

The former makes the offer sound very expensive for most of use.
The latter not a bad deal, saves the capital outlay.

There its no need to buy any software in advance although there is an introductory offer if you already own an earlier version of the Creative Suite as old as CS3.

I have gone onto the 30 day free trial, it looks tremenouse value for some giving as it does acces to most of Adobe's software, Lightroom is to be added later this year shame I am already a licence holder.
My own problem with it is I don't really need a lot of the software available, illestrator, indesign, dreamweaver, premiere. If you need them it's fantastic value even at the full subscription.
I qualify for the special deal £27 per month.

What does worry me is after the 12 months will they put it up to full wack which would be difficult for me to justify, I should then have to pay for the upgrade from my CS4 which I believe they plan to scrap at the end of the year.

Incidentally Photoshop CS6 is quick and looks good not tried the new tool yet but it's a leap forward from CS4.

I am finding Content Aware Fill more and more useful in CS6

Not tried that tool yet, but then that's another delema whether to sign up or not.
My photography is changing to a purer form that does not require a great amount of manipulation, and Lightroom is more than adequate. Although I still do studio stuff Photoshop can be the better for that, but even then lightroom has tools for skin smoothing, local brightening and sharpening.

Can't help thinking CS4 & Lightroom are good enough for my requirements.

Patrick you make yourself a very good case for 'if it aint broke don't fix it'.
It appears that you are very adept in the use of CS4 & Lightroom and that they meet all your current needs. Do you really need to commence a new learning curve.

Indeed, basically you are quite correct, but at the same time CS6 is so smooth to use and I love the new interface.

I have 30 days to make my mind up and see if the new features are of true interest.
