Not sure where the bus will drop you, but may I suggest the Carfax tower at the end of Queen St & High St.

Hi Ian

An obvious place would be Radcliff's Camera, the very famous building and
fairly central and well sign posted. An apt name as well.

Thanks Stephen and Patrick - I've decided on Patrick's suggestion, Radcliffe's Camera, see:

http://www.chem.ox.ac.uk/oxfordtour/...adcliffesq.htm

..let's meet where the picture on the page above was taken from

And let's aim for 10:30AM

Ian

There used to be a little cafe at the top of St Giles - but usually try and avoid Oxford unless I'm showing round visitors!

If we are waiting for people in Magdalen Street (the drop off point from Peartree, unless anyone wants to get off by the Radcliffe Infirmary and walk in), there's plenty to look at round there, including, I seem to remember, a nice little church (which might be where the coffee bar was??)

I asked my 'friend' but he wants to get on with the gardening....

Re: DPNow South photo expedition?

Have a fantastic day. Don't forget to take a Group Shot for posting on the site.

Sorry we can't make it but it's just a bit too far for us to drive in one day. May be next time if it is a bit nearer as I should love to put faces to all the names.

Originally we had considered making a weekend break of it but since then we have booked a Big holiday (Hong Kong and a Far East Cruise) in February so have to cut back somewhere.

Hope the weather keeps fine and get some good shots.

Yes that brings bribgs up the question of food, are you guys bringing sandwiches or finding a nice place to eat.

I can recommend a nice little tea shop on the High street on the way down to the Botanical Gardens on the left. Claimed to be the oldest in the country.

Of course, I forgot that I wouldn't be the first one home....

Anyway, hasn't the Red Bull worn off yet? You should be asleep! - and since your message was posted some time ago, you probably are

don't wake him

Seriously, it was great to meet everyone

Of course, our great leader was the last to arrive and we never found out whether Bigbob made it

A brilliant day - even if I was seriously outgunned with my camera

It's not what you've got Caz, it's what you do with it !!

Lovely to put faces to names and get hints and tips to boot! Thanks to Caz, Patrick & Mike, Mike Parr, Sue (spl), Andrew and last but not least Ian & Julia for great day out - and boy, was that sun hot!
