Evening Mike,
Think of it like noughts & crosses. Draw a rectangle, then divide this area in equal parts with two lines down and two across (like making a noughts & crosses grid inside). Where the lines intersect is where the "rule" says that you should place your points of interest. I think they do something similar in flower arranging by using odd numbers of the same blooms, e.g. 1, 3, 5 for a better aesthetics (sorry I digressed!) If I'm a million miles away I hope someone will correct me.

Get some heating in there and hot drink making facilities and that might be a good idea. You won't get disturbed half so much.
