Re: Post your London 2012 Olympics shots here!

Hoping some more of you will be adding to this Olympics thread at some point!

In the mean time here is a plug for our official Panasonic Lumix London 2012 Olympics gallery on our Four Thirds User Site:

The latest shots are really very good, taken by Getty photographer, Dean Mouhtaropoulos, using a Panasonic Lumix DMC-G5 camera and Lumix lenses.

You can see them all here:

Yay! More shots from Robusto I'm sure all our visitors who can't be at the games themselves will appreciate this

You did well, Robusto, to get those cycling shots from amongst such a crowd. The other shots, too, capture the spirit of the Olympics.

Re: Post your London 2012 Olympics shots here!

There are some more images on the official Panasonic Lumix Olympics gallery on our Four Thirds User site. Here is one added today:

There was a hiccup yesterday and the photos didn't come through but we have 11 shots today, including yesterday's, all taken as usual using Panasonic Lumix G cameras by Getty images photographer Dean Mouhtaropoulos.

To see all the images go here:

Re: Post your London 2012 Olympics shots here!

In our FTU Panasonic Lumix Olympics gallery:

This is far and away the most viewed (1400+ views at the time of writing) photo in the gallery. Next up is this one (approx 500 views):

One of the boxing shots has a couple of hundred views and the rest are still in double figures.

Curious that!

Here are some of mine...

Taken on a Panasonic FZ150 as there were "scare stories" about taking in "pro gear" like my Canon gear which I shouldn't have listened to:

More shots from the Panasonic FZ150!

This event was right at the other end of the stadium so I was luck to get anything though a 600mm zoom is very useful. I am awaiting the FZ200 600mm F2.8 with great interest!

Then I went a second time!

Amazing what happens when you spend all evening up to 2am and every morning before work logged in trying to get tickets. Eventually you get lucky!

This time I "sneaked" a 7D with 100-400 in. They didn't even search my bag. Ironically the shots aren't as good as with the FZ150 though this is down to 3 things: 1) although the seat was much nearer to the track it was badly placed for the start and finish lines. 2) The world's press kept getting in the way of my shots! 3) it was getting dark so ISO was pushed pretty high. The folowing shot of the 3 100m men's winners inc Usain Bolt was cropped quite a bit and at high ISO. I need to ask some advice about noise ninja or similar.

Anyway here goes:

Re: Post your London 2012 Olympics shots here!

Fabulous shots, Malc - thanks so much for sharing them with us! A superzoom bridge camera like the Panasonic Lumix FZ150 does seem to be an ideal camera for events like this. I'm looking forward to being with my family at the Paralympics inside the main stadium in a week and a bit. I'll certainly be posting shots here too
