I have actually bought this for my wife to use as we are going away next year. It arrived yesterday but its only just dried up outside so I popped over to the coast to fire off a few Pics.

Re: lumix G3 test photos

Hi Pops, the theory is ......... as she just about knows where the shutter release is and which way to point it, I will use it and then attempt to show her. My wife has never used an SLR or the like before as her last camera was a Fuji A something that lived in her handbag.......more point and prey than point and shoot.
We are off to America next year and she wants to be a confident user, she went out yesterday and came back with some very acceptable shots, all taken in program mode which is ideal to get used to handling it.
So far i have managed to confound her with talk of aperture priority and shutter priority!! and I wont even tell you what she thought Depth of Field meant
Her complaint is, that I am never in the photographs that are taken as I tend to be the taker, and a we have never had satisfactory results from a £60 camera so we thought this would be the way to go.
Once I've worked out the the little oddities of the G3 and there are plenty i hope to pass on this on
Cheers.

Ps It's off out again with me for another road test today and then with both of us tomorrow
