The Nokia PureView 808 shoots Budapest

I'm here in Budapest, Hungary this week and I brought along the new Nokia PureView 808 smartphone featuring its infamous 41 megapixel sensor.

Here's a taxing shot for any camera, let alone a smartphone camera:

I have tinkered with this in Lightroom.

Feedback welcomed:

Ian

That looks good.

Yes, I think it's just about 28mm full frame equivalent, so a handy wide angle lens.

It would be nice to see the original but this looks impressive. What size is the actual image after Nokia processing and pixel binning?

I think this is an 8MP file. It was quite dim, too.

Also, because the sensor is over-sized and can accommodate multiple aspect ratios without cropping, the 16:9 widescreen mode is apparently equivalent to a 26mm wide angle in terms of width, if not diagonal coverage.
