Thanks Martin,

When I lived in East Anglia I often visited that coastline.

Here is the next image. I will be interested to find if clues are needed!

Clue 1: The viewpoint is from an iconic ruin.

Re: Challenge - Where is this? III

Hi Kurt
It's the Swanage railway at Corfe . I have a similar set of images but without the two cars (red & observation).

Spot-on, Martin. I was hoping to make reference to Enid Blyton's famous five and picnics with ginger beer! Back to you.

Now that does take me back.
It has been quite reminiscent just looking back to 2005 when we were at Corfe.By the way you did well to capture both the train & the car together.
I'll sort another challengelater.

Re: Challenge - Where is this? III

This reminds me of the Caen locks just outside Devizes - but I could, of course, be wrong!

Re: Challenge - Where is this? III

I think it's Bingley 5-rise on the Liverpool and Leeds Canal. If I'm right, this flight is unusual in that there are no pounds between the locks - i.e. the bottom gate of one lock is the top gate of the next.

Hi Andrew,
Yes, you are perfectly correct. Never realised there was anything unique about the mechanism before, which rises 60ft from bottom to top.
Back to you then.

Martin

Very well, here's the next one. It is in England (fairly obviously!). I still haven't mastered the art of inserting a full sized photo!

Re: Challenge - Where is this? III

In the interest of moving this thread on before I go away next week, here's a clue. It's in a county noted for fine perp style towers and this is one of the stars.

I've got another clue in mind for use in a few days' time, but please, someone, don't make me use it!
