What stars!

I know that this needs no plugging, but every now and again something touches one's personal emotions and this certainly does it for me - maybe it does for you too.

Re: What stars!

Interesting post Ian.
I watched it on the night and quite honestly I wasn't one little bit impressed although I could appreciate the logistics in bringing it all together.
Watching this clip was a completely different experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I put this down to the lack of distraction which gave me the chance to concentrate fully on the music and the singers. Unfortunately I don't see it being the sort of song that will stay in the mind but I am pleased you posted it.

Re: What stars!

The live performance in front of Buckingham Palace wasn't very good, it has to be said. For me the show was stolen by Madness and 'Our House' combined with that awesome projector display (30 projectors and the project was started and finished in just three weeks).

What grabbed me about the video was the involvement of so many people from around the Commonwealth - young and old and, especially, the really cute African girl who did the solo bits. She might not have ever seen a pair of headphones before she became involved. It was a visionary project by Gary Barlow and the scenes in the video were beautifully filmed and produced. Just loved the blind guy (Australian Aborigine?) playing a right handed guitar upside down with his left hand . Yes, it's sentimental and a bit gooey, but sometimes we need things like this to remind us of what's positive about life.

Thumbs up Re: What stars!

Well said Ian, completely agree. Apart from one small detail.

Stevie Wonder was by far the best thing there...
