Re: Serif Invites Photographers to Enter its Digital Photography Competition

Just be aware that once Serif have your 'phone number you will never stop hearing about their special offers. If you are tempted to take up one of the offers also be aware that the first price they quote is never their best price, neither is their second or often even their third! Just keep saying that you really like the sound of their software but just can't afford it - you'll be surprised how low they will actually go!

Re: Serif Invites Photographers to Enter its Digital Photography Competition

Hi,

I am the organiser of the PhotoPlus competition at Serif and I can confirm that the phone numbers given by entrants are only used to contact runners-up and winners of the competition. Contact details are not shared with the sales teams at all.
So if you want to enter the competition, I can assure you that your details remain confidential and are not shared either with our sales teams, or third parties.

Thank you,
Hannah

Should be noted that entries need to be edited via Serif Photo Editing Software and to make sure a download is made available.
Not saying the software is not up to scratch but why should we need to download Serif software when photoshop, paint shop, lightroom etc etc is already available to most.

Re: Serif Invites Photographers to Enter its Digital Photography Competition

Hi there Pops,

There's a free PhotoPlus starter edition that can be downloaded at serif.com. You're right, alternatives are available, although with this being a PhotoPlus competition, we'd of course like to see how customers have used our software to achieve the results.
Thanks,
Hannah

Thanks for clarifying that, Hannah, it's reasurring to know and I hope the competition is a success. Serif products are undoubtably good but the sales team are a little, um, persistant? Also, I don't like the way they initially try to sell at a price way above what they will eventually come down to if there is buyer reluctance - at least in my experience. That's not how I like to do business I'm afraid.
