Re: DPNOW Salon Competiton #123 - "Mirror Images"
The child bride (she's only 60) and I agonized over the choices this morning but have reached a consensus.
And the winner is:
Gina's Granddaughter! What a wonderful composition and very imaginative.
John Perriment's Vintage Rolls Royce reflection. We both really liked it and wondered how it would look if the source of the reflection had been visible too. Either way, it's the kind of picture that deserves to be mounted on a wall.
Ekkl's Mirror Wall. That piece lends itself to so many possibilities. I'd love to visit it. Where is it? The well defined clouds at the corner of the mirror add a nice contrast. It would be interesting to see the same shot with a small bump in saturation.
In any event, I'm honored to have had the opportunity to judge works in a theme that has long held my interest. All of you have risen to the challenge with some very well thought out submissions. I still consider myself a neophyte in photography but when I see shots that make me wish I had taken them, I instinctively know they are good. All of the above images meet that criterion.
A job well done folks!
Curating duties of the next Salon now go to Gina.
If you're not living on the edge you're taking up too much room.
