Mono model

One of the perks of my job is to get to point a camera at some very good models in decent studios from time to time - and yesterday at the Olympus E-M5 seminar in Amsterdam was just such an opportunity.

This was processed from an E-M5 camera JPEG and converted to mono in Lightroom 3.6

Hi Ian.
What did you really think of the E-M5,I have looked at all the spec.s also the 12-50mm lens that is included with the camera I could ask you all so many questions, You have handled it know so what is your truthful conclusion?

I like the E-M5 a lot, but then I do have a soft spot for Four Thirds/Micro Four Thirds in general. But the good news for Olympus is that I genuinely sensed a lot of enthusiasm from other journalists who tried the camera. I wish it had a side-hinged screen for greater versatility but that's probably the only issue I have with the camera. The up/down tilting screen arrangement isn't too bad. I also like the 9fps fast shooting mode and it's a quiet and refined camera. We only had pre-production cameras with unfinished firmware but the image quality is very encouraging so far.

Hi Ian, did you try the big fourthirds lenses with the adapter into the new camera? Any comment? I like the portrait very much. Regards Horacio

Hi Ian,
I like the mono conversion. The longer I look at it the more I think it would make a good square composition.

Does anybody know how to make a good nature composition...I always go to in the country where I love to take pictures of nature.

Ian gets around! I've just got my May copy of BPI News magazine and there on the cover was one of Ian's colour photos of the above model taken at the same session. It looks very good in print.

Thanks Geoff, I know at least one of my shots was used in BPI this month (I'm waiting for a copy) but remember that lots of people tooke photos of the same model at the Amsterdam Olympus OM-D launch, so the cover might not be mine. It would be nice if it was!
