Where is the line?

Portraits and Candid styles

I was wondering is there a rule that defines each style? it's particularly interesting to me regarding infants and children? I understand the fundamentals of each style but want to know how to classify correctly.

Any help offered is always gratefully received.

Thanks

Gina

Hi Gina

I just thought that when they can't walk they're still babies - once they can walk they become children.
Cheers

I always associate candids as those where the subject is not posing or is unaware that they are being photographed, however it is entirely possible that such a picture can be called a Portrait.
