      Thanks Pedar,

I really have no bias or brand loyalty and my personal opinion is to search for an FZ30. If you can't find it, buy another camera, but not the FZ50.

The seed head (#3) with each separate little parachute showing distinctly, is quite beautiful against the blue sky - you've captured the softness of them perfectly. It also looks warm, with the sunlight just encroaching from the left.

All are highly colourful, but the red poppy, it jumps from the screen. Oh, roll on Summer.

Indeed last week, when I took these photos in my country place, it was warm (26-28C). There were some groups of foreign tourists swimming in the sea, though for us the Greeks the weather is still not warm enough to swim.
The weather forecast said that from this coming Wednesday the temperature is rising more. Well, the summer is nice but it gets really very hot over here and it is quite uncomfortable to move around with 40-42C average summer temperature.

Hi George - Any reason why you say in an earlier post in this thread 'not the FZ50'. Does it not give as good a quality of result as the FZ30 or is it a difference in size/handling or something else ?

Everyone a gem George. I love to see blooms taken from different angles like you have done with these.
Wasn't to keen on that crazy paving showing in the last shot but I can live with it.

                    Hi Dennis,

The FZ30 (8MP) and the FZ50 (10MP) in terms of looking and handling are identical. They are exactly the same cameras, same features, same everything.
Though, the FZ50's image quality using same sensor like the FZ50 suffers a lot from artifacts even at ISO100. There is smearing and water paint effect even at the lowest ISOs.
I had hard time digging and finding the FZ30 myself here in Greece as the camera is a year and a half model and has been outsold already. Plenty of FZ50s in the shelves remain though.
While I can suggest the FZ30, I cannot do the same for the FZ50.
Though it is up for someone to compare sample images from both cameras and decide, but personally I do not want to be blamed for something I cannot suggest, having in mind the ambition of all people to spend their money in order to get something to enjoy and be happy with.
Also more Megapixels is not always the way to go, especially in the non DSLR market and sometimes even in the DSLRs.

As far as the last shot is concerned, you might live with it as you say, but here is an alternative version (as I have for all my photos) that probably look better

                        Hi George

This collection is superb - I really like the way the blooms just burst on to or even out of the screen.

I dont know what you do, but I do like the vibrance you capture in your images. I think its the light you have in your part of the world.

                          Nice shots

This I like very much. The underside can be made to look just as photogenic as the more usual above shot. They stand out and give a lot of impact as well as a completely different perspective.
Lovely sky you have there as well and nicely balanced with the blue paintwork.

I like the third one George. The sharpness is really something on this one. Full credit to your camera and your steady hand.
