Blue Man

Went to see the Blue Man Group matinee performance in London today. Here is a tip for you - bring your camera with you rather than check it in to the cloakroom as they have a brief photo opportunity after the performance. There was a window to the right of the frame, but I have cloned that out. This was taken with a Kodak V803 compact which is on loan for review, while my DSLR and lenses were in my bag - in the cloakroom!

This is a great show - very entertaining and highly recommended

That's a very vivid blue and certainly makes his eyes jump out.

Must be one heck of a job getting cleaned up every night.

You have NO idea how jealous I am!

I simply love The Blue Man Group. Ever since they were on the Pentium adverts. How was it? the bass goes right through you so I hear. Its supposed to be really funny as well.

That's why I took the Julia and the kids to see it in London today.

Lara (our youngest, aged 8 3/4)) was singled out and given some of the props to look after by one of the performers during the show

The London show is different in parts to the Vegas one and theatre in Las Vegas is larger, but both were equally entertaining.

It combines mime, slapstick, loads of special effects, lots of audience involvement and great rock music with some very original percussion, though of course you know all that Ben!

How did the two compare?

I have had 'The Complex' audio CD since it came out, and it is outstanding. (good driving music )

The smaller theatre in London makes you feel closer to the act, but I felt the sound system was better in Vegas. I don't remember the shaving foam projection screen in Vegas and the cyber/cafe bit was different - more animations and less reliance on the LED sign boards. There is also a section in the Vegas performance where they 'wear' huge pipe instruments with lots of pipes and play them - that was missing from the London show. Predictably, the London crowd was a little more conservative than the Vegas one when responding to the prompts
