Question Nikon Lens Guidance

Need a little help/guidance with what to do.
I recently inherited a Nikon D300 and D40 with the following lenses:
18-55 Kit Lens
Tamron SP AF28-300/3.5-6.3 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro
Tamron 90mm f/2.8 SP AF Di Macro - I guess this is also a good choice for portraits too being 90mm?
Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 AF - VERY Heavy old lens
Nikon AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VR
Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 - Looking forward to getting to use this out in the countryside!

I'm wondering if I should sell the D40 with 18-55 Kit Lens, Nikon 80-200, Nikon 70-300 and Tamron 28-300 to get some money towards a Nikon 18-200mm VR II or Nikon 18-300mm VR to cover the full range.
I've read really good reviews about the old 80-200 f2.8 but no VR I think is going to limit it to mono/tripod use.

I thought about selling my 400D with 18-55 IS II and 55-250 IS II... its all in excellent condition and really well looked after ... but then, that would probably raise the rest of the money to buy the 18-200mm or 18-300mm with some change too.

Oh what to do?!

I've always used Canon and this D300 is VERY different to use to my Canon. Maybe I'm just so familiar with my 400D after, what 5 or 6 years now, thats its second nature. The D300 doesnt seem to have such a logical button and menu layout, but is clearly a superior body in many ways!
