Re: Lunchtime wanders

Awaiting renovation - barge near Tully's Boatyard on the Oxford Canal at Banbury. Taken from outside the shopping centre and above - I couldn't get to the towpath beside it because it's private, so...

Re: Playing with the Panasonic Lumix S1 full frame mirrorless

Wow, that's impressive - but that's a huge 50mm! I do have the Canon version of the f1.4 which looks like a nifty fifty next to that.

Re: Salon 257 Crowd

That must have been hard, although not a lot of entries the standards were high. Thank you for picking one of mine in the shortlist and congratulations to Ian.

Re: Lunchtime wanders

The Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique came to Banbury last week, and I forgot! Still, little camera in bag I set off through the biting wind to have a look then realised I'd committed the cardinal sin of...

Re: Salon 257 Crowd

As an event photographer, I have lots of pictures of people in crowds - mostly at concerts and festivals, but other events too.

My second entry is from a fundraising event for a neuroblastoma...

Re: Salon 257 Crowd

You'd guess that mine would be musical... my first entry is the crowd in front of the second stage at Hard Rock Hell last November: Voodoo Blood were performing and their vocalist had asked all the...

Re: Lunchtime wanders

Thanks for the comment Barrie.

The fine lady was riding her horse (she's just outside the reception of our main office - I work up the road) but she's currently surrounded by British Gas vans as...

Lunchtime wanders

I've always got a camera in my bag - usually my EOS-M, and try to go for a lunchtime walk around the town every day.

The early snowdrops are out in the churchyard - I particularly like these,...

Re: Epic snowfall

Good grief! This country grinds to a halt when a couple of inches of snow falls... How it would cope with 18, I have no idea! ;)
I particularly liked the car image

Re: RIP Pol

That is sad news. Pol was always helpful and considerate to a forum newbie when I joined in 2008.
I'm sure that I'm not the only one thinking of her family at this time.

Happy New Year

And it's the start of another year, as I've just uploaded some photos I took today and began a new folder for 2019. Not shareable, as I don't share pictures of my grandchildren online at my...

Re: Salon 255-Cake.

Good subject Andy, but I admit I had to search my archives to find cake pictures!

Re: Salon 255-Cake.

My second entry, seen in the window of a bakery in the covered market in Oxford - there was also their version of the Sheldonian (in cake) but I didn't get that so cleanly - although I have removed...

Re: Salon 255-Cake.

Wedding cake. Yes, that is an alien. This is my nephew and his wife on their wedding day in 2014. I'd been told that the cake was based on the birth scene from Alien, so was quite relieved that it...

The second image from Tuesday was one of the headliners: The Dead Daisies. A modern super group, made up of members of some of the biggest rock bands of the 80's onwards: Whitesnake, Motley Crue,...

First on were leading lights of the NWOCR (new wave of classick rock) scene, Massive Wagons - very difficult to shoot as he never stops...

Re: Choosing a bag for your laptop and a camera

It depends what I'm doing: weddings and studio I usually have a Calumet rolling case. Fantastic beast, but I couldn't take that into a pit during gigs!
For gigs, it varies between a Lowepro...

Re: To crop or not?

Thank you - and I think Rod actually put it better than I did. Will look you up on Insta; I have 2 accounts: one for weddings and general, and the other for music. They don't really mix!
