Re: RAF Centenary Flypast

Re: Editing Posts

There is currently a time limit for editing posts but that may well change as we can roll back edits in case there is some kind of dispute.

Re: RAF Centenary Flypast

I think some post-processing could improve these if I may most humbly say?

Alas I was 7000 miles away at the time :(

Re: Drone view of River Bulbourne

My browser is set to 100% view. Any smaller and sometimes the text gets very difficult to read.

On a phone images are displayed differently and will likely be resized to fit the screen,...

Re: GoPro Quik

Not taken with a GoPro? :D

I used a Yi 4K Plus action cam on my recent trip to the Far East. It proved very handy for Songkran, the Thai New Year. This is because everyone throws water at each...

Some birds from the Philippines

I'm not really a bird photographer but I was with my family in the Philippines for a couple of weeks earlier in the month and sometimes the birds simply beg to be photographed :)

So here are a few...

Re: Anyone explored camera drones?

You can get something like a Bayangtoys X16 GPS drone (there is a non-GPS cheaper one so beware) for around $125 and a cheap powered gimbal for another $40. Something like this:

Re: Anyone explored camera drones?

I'm a big fan of buy from outlet stores and refurbished items. We bought a new 'refurb' Dyson few weeks ago from the Dyson outlet store on eBay - the best discount price was 299, the refurb price...

Re: My Image of the Day

Hardly anything here - it's very cold and there are short flurries but it seems to blow away again.

Re: Anyone explored camera drones?

Been doing some learning :) Ideally the shutter speed of the camera should be double that of the frame rate to ensure natural looking motion, so at 24 fps you should have a shutter speed of 1/48th,...

Re: Anyone explored camera drones?

That's interesting, Ron :) The cost of drones has really come down now. You can get a GPS quadcopter with auto-hover and return to home, with a simple camera, for under 50 (Chinese supplier) like...

Re: Anyone explored camera drones?

The main disadvantage of the Yi cameras is that they aren't waterproof without the housing, which is an optional extra, though bundles with the casing are available. The Yi Lite is very good but the...

Re: Anyone explored camera drones?

I'm currently testing a couple of GoPro rivals from Yi - the Yi Lite (100 with waterproof case) and Yi 4K (180 with waterproof case). GoPros now look very over-priced! The Yi 4K even records stills...
