Christmas Re: Snowdonia in grey weather?

That appeals very much! Plus the 'dodge' and 'burn' tools could be helpful too... thank you.

Re: Snowdonia in grey weather?

Hmm, that's something to think about - I remember there being a lot of tumbledown old farmhouses last time I was there. Lots of waterfalls too, thanks!

Re: Snowdonia in grey weather?

That's good advice, thank you! Looking forward to it so much. Even if it rains solidly (and being North Wales, it probably will!), I can't remember the last time I had a couple of days to myself like...

Snowdonia in grey weather?

Hi all. Sorry I haven't been around for absolutely ages! I had a bit of upheaval in my life, and it resulted in me losing my passion for photography for a while. Now, however, it's returned with a...

Re: Sad announcement concerning Stephen

I haven't logged in for ages, but saw this announcement in my email inbox.

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. :( When I think of the DP Now forum, Stephen is one of the first people to come to...

Landscape Photographer of the Year

Landscape photography is a passion of mine, and my ambition is to have one of my photographs shortlisted for this prestigious competition. I recognise that I have a lot of improvements to make before...

Re: Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize 2010

Interesting to hear you mention 'snapshots'. My own view on the 'controversial' image of the half nude female is that the lighting's not especially good and the background / composition aren't too...

Re: DPNow.com Picture of the Day, Friday - 17th December 2010

Found out that my photo had been picked through Facebook - thank you! Not sure why I picked that title though, I think it was just the tag I used for all the photos in that batch, hehe.

Re: Summer

Mmm, nice to see a summer image with all this snow around! I'd love a walk along a warm beach right now.

Re: Snow on the Moors

Love the sun flare and the cloud formations. Without the fence posts, the ground (in my weird imagination!) could almost be mistaken for a stormy sea - it's a beautiful image.

Re: November Sunrise 1

Just saw these on DP Now's Facebook page. They're both absolutely beautiful - I especially love the tones and composition of the second one. Definitely worth getting cold fingers for!

Re: Long time, no post!

Thanks everyone.

I won the competition, so thanks to anyone who voted for me. I've won a Canon IXUS, but I don't know which specific model number it is. I've never seen an IXUS before - has...

Re: Long time, no post!

Thanks for your replies everyone. That's an interesting idea regarding the sky - yes, I can see that it would focus the eye on the bird / pilings more, I'll definitely try that.

I've played...

Re: Long time, no post!

Thank you. :) No worries, I quite understand about you not wanting to add Skyscanner. I've accepted your 'friends' request on FB anyway, I tend to find it easier to keep in touch with people that way!

Long time, no post!

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted on here for ages and ages. Unfortunately, my husband left at the beginning of the summer (traded me in for a younger model!) so photography has had to take a back...

Re: What do you do with your photos

Thanks for the comments on my gallery. Yes, the average $120 per month figure is pretty accurate. It's not that much, when you convert it to GBP it's about 80 or 90 I think? If I was exaggerating...

Re: What do you do with your photos

I have started selling some of mine through Shutterstock (http://submit.shutterstock.com/?ref=505780) - the payment per image is low, but the download rate is high and I receive an average of about...

Re: Open College of Arts - BA Creative Arts Degree

Thanks Stephen. :) I was concerned about the money the course costs, but I love having something to exercise my brain, and the course materials are very well written in my opinion.
