Re: Macro challenge - reloaded!

I'd like to know..........especially if it's an 'either you've seen it or you haven't' item - but best let a few others chime in I feel. :)

Re: Windows 8 - anyone here tried it, or thinking about it?

...which should be against so many 'monopoly' or 'cartel' laws, but somehow it isn't. This is probably agreed by governmnets as they are, in fact, afraid of freedom of information and want to control...

Re: Macro challenge - reloaded!

Clueless, but intrigued........:)

The centre looks like it's made of wood fibres, but the arrangement of the loops with twisted copper looks odd, as they would be uncomfortable to hold and appear...

Re: Windows 8 - anyone here tried it, or thinking about it?

Therein lies the nub of your comments, with which I agree.

I've been using computers since I first bought the Sinclair ZX-80, and I programmed at college on an ICL4130 with punch cards in machine...

Re: October's DPNow prize is an Olympus Stylus XZ-2

Gutted it wasn't me, but congrats to the winner! Enjoy!

It worked inasmuch as I've come back to the forum and will check in at least weekly; schedule permitting.

Re: Lunar Shot

Sadly not; a terrible omission that would have been nice in a firmware upgrade. Did I say firmware upgrade? :\

That's it! and followed by ", and while it's reeling from that we'd follow up with a whist drive, a car boot sale, some street theatre and possibly even some benefit concerts.":D

Also, your later...

FOV samples from 9mm to 18mm (4/3)

Hi,

I posted this before in the E-systems forum and elsewhere, and people found it useful.

For my eyes, this gives a better real-world comparison of the difference in the FOV for just these few...

A picture speaks....

Hi,

Could we see some examples along with why, please?

David.

Re: Lunar Shot

I also haven't achieved a good moon shot with my E-400. Looking at the people who do manage good shots, like Ian's last, long lenses, teleconverters and absolute stability seem to be the key.

Mine...

Re: Windows 8 - anyone here tried it, or thinking about it?

Therein lies the problem, I believe. They are catering to a mobile, fast-paced, "App" market with limited attention span and 'end users' of media served to them. They will only create text-speak...

Re: That Hollywood Look

Hi Paul,

She does like modelling and I saw the other photos on your Zenfolio site. I think number 4 is a cracker, and number 7 when she's laughing with the dog!

Flash or natural light with a...

Re: Autumn Backdrops

Nice shots, and a good idea to actually take some in/out of focus autumn colours as backdrops anyway! I have a small collection now, but often forget.

Re: 1973 Lens on 2010 Camera

Agreed. Maybe someone can show us a gem of a lens that is underated and therefore cheap!

Re: Careful use of the Sharpening Tool

I like the wit of the title and the picture that followed brought a smile to my face.

Nice shot, and thanks for the smile. I truly am in awe of the internet: not the technical details of how it...

Re: "my" Gator

Wow! Any more shots?

I think I have a very healthy fear of things like that! If it had slid into the water, I would have been very worried. Could this have rocked the boat you were in?

Near my...

Re: Lunch time walk yesterday

Nice little snapshot (not intended negativley) of life on the water over there!

Here in Suzhou, China, the canals are so polluted that there's no visible life . I'm amazed at how few birds we see...

Re: fractal filter

It doesn't matter what medium you use, or what tools you use to achieve it, if the end result is a nice original image - it is your creation.

I think it's great as "art" and there's nothing wrong...

Re: Very low light with E-M5

Great shots and tempting me even more to look at the EM-5. The results are fantastic, with good colour rendition and great detail it seems.

I often have problems with the E-400 with low-light...

Re: Sunrise Indonesia

Thanks Tom. I also like the untouched image and there is a difficult balance between reality and fantasy. On this occasion, the image OOC didn't really do justice to the feeling of being there and...

Great and imaginative picture, and absolutely fun to boot!

There's probably a market for pet pictures like this.

Re: From E-400 to Micro 4/3? EP5 or OM-D?

I think a fair few are waiting. :\

The E-400 is going nowhere! I love it to death, and will use it until it dies. :D
