Sticky what? Jam? Treacle?

You expect the last post to be at the top after you have clicked on the root, but there are sticky's!!! What is this, it may well be easy for you moderators to slap your sticky's wherever you want, but think of a newcomer to the forum, just posted an image and wants to look at it, the last poster of the root folder is on the right, but when you click on the root, the message & picture is nowhere to be found, just a list of posts that you have to sift through.
Ok Im moaning, but if you are seriously wanting newcomers to sign up, the new forum needs some work.

Ash.

If you go to your user options here http://dpnow.com/forum2/profile.php?do=editoptions
You can change the way threads are laid out. I hate the threaded view (though it's DPnow tradition), and its rare to see a vB board with this as the default setting. Once you're familiar with the various options, I'm sure you'll like the new format.

Sticky are threads that admin/mods have deemed important and they stay (are stuck) to the top of a forum, so they don't fall down with newer threads from members.

Hi Andy, just spotted your post :)

Yes - as you point out, I do like threaded displays, but I do know that that's not a view shared by everyone! :D

Quite a nice compromise is the hybrid option and, again, as you point out rightly there is an option to customise your preferences from the User CP (control panel).

Stephen is working on a regular photo contest for fun; I'll try to persuade him to start with a bird category! :D

I'm soon to get a 50-200 (100-400 equiv) f/2.8-3.5, so I'll have less excuse to get some reasonable bird and other wildlife shots from afar.
