Internet connection woes - smartphone to the rescue!

Well, I'm at our office in Apsley, Hemel Hempstead this morning, but our internet connection is down. So how am I updating my blog? I have my laptop PC 'tethered' to my HTC Desire Android smartphone, so the phone is very handily acting as my internet connection.
Our office ADSL connection is pretty poor at the best of times. It used to be good for about 4 or 5 megabits per second, but it's now more like 3 megabits and the connection drops quite frequently on some days.
Our service provider says that there is a breakage in a BT optic fibre cable in our locality, so I have no idea how long that will take to fix. Therefore, I'm preparing to go back home, where we have a nice 20Mb Virgin cable broadband connection. If only we had that here at the office...
