I have been trying to send a photo from Lightroom to Photoshop for further editing which cannot be done in Lightroom. After editing I then want to send it to Imageready to prepare it to send to a gallery album, however when I try to 'Edit in Imageready' I get the message 'Please convert image to 8 bit rgb'.
Can anyone please explain how to do this.?

It occurs to me that you must be editing in PS as a Tiff file which are 16bit. You can tell LR to export or Edit as a JPEG and therefore it will always be 8bit This is done in Lightroom preferences under external editing

Many thanks for that Stephen. However although it works the colour seems to have changed when it opens in ImageReady. Any idea why? Alternatively do you know of a better way of resizing a photo and compressing it ready to send to a gallery.? Previously I have been using PSP but I find that it creates 'jaggies' on straight edges on lines at an angle.

Could it be you haven't changed it to SRGB in the Lightroom settings. I suspect it was set on Prophoto or Adobe 1998 by default. I'm also wondering why you are using Imageready
