Hi There,
This is something I'm very interested in, However, the camera is limiting me a lot.
However, I don't think this shot is too bad?
Give me your Findings ?

This is very difficult to do well
I think you have done well to get the lightning bolt in the centre of the frame (though I guess you have cropped it too).
My feeling is that the picture could do with more in the sky to complement the drama of the lightning - some cloud detail, for example. A bit more of the silhouette of the trees and houses on the ground would also balance the image better.
All your pictures are showingh promise!

This is what the Original Looked Like, It was taken from a Balcony, With rails at the bottom, so I was limited to the bottom.
As I say I'm new to this whole scene, thank You for your Advice.
Hi Lourens,
A pretty good attempt for your first try, A very difficult subject to take successfully, could do with some more interest in the image, but then I can't do it successfully at all. Looks promising to me.

I like the original.
The image includes those items Ian suggested.
I did try a Levels adjustment to show a bit more of the cloud formation as Ian suggested but the image does not have much cloud structure data.
I am still trying to capture lightining for the first time.

Outstanding work!
I actually feel a more severe crop would be good, I think there is a little too much dead space above the lightening. (horses for courses!)
I love lightening work, and it is so satisfying when you capture it!
When I try and capture lightening, I pop the camera on about f8, select about a 3 or 4 second exposure. Its also important to have the camera on a tripod, and best to use a remote shutter release, alternatively use the remote shoot option if your camera has it.
Super capture though. Heres one I took just outside my front door.
With your permission, may I have a play with your picture this evening to demonstrate how I would present it?

Nice contrast between the purple in the sky and the reddish hue on the houses, Ben :)
