View Full Version : New forum feature
Hi all, I have just added a new feature to the DPNow forum. It lists all recent unanswered threads. Just look for 'Unanswered@ on the forum nav bar, inbetween 'Galleries' and 'Realtime'.
Hopefully less posters will end up without a response :)
Ian
I thought that this seemed a really good idea, until I had a look.
I have often thought members' posts were bumped by News Articles that you had posted.
Having done a brief scan of the first 4 pages, I think there are only 3 posts (out of 100) from members that have been unanswered. There are about 4 POTD and the rest are links to articles.
Is there any way of keeping the articles separate from members posts?
I am sure that many of these articles are useful to keep members up to speed with current photographic issues, but when you post them, they don't come in "Ones" they swamp the New Posts page.*LOL Also, are you expecting members to comment on them - there are so many! Of course if it were something pertinent, then they would anyway.
There has been the odd occasion when I have spent time editing a photograph to post and wondered why I hadn't had a reply, only to find that my posting had been followed by links to DP New Annoucements and my post was now on another page.:(
To sum up, yes it is a good idea, but could these links be separated from members posts?

Good point... I will see what can be done!
