OK, so Christmas is but a month a way, give a few days. I was wondering what folks here would wish to be given for Christmas - in the 'photography' category? Books, accessories, pictures? Something more expensive - probably!

And what about ideas for giving presents to keen photographers?

I've bought my daughter a Canon A620 - excellent reviews and excellent price. (Reckon Dad might be borrowing it when he doesn't want to cart the SLR gear about :D )

Very kind of you Ian!!! :D :D

I am hoping for a new camera bag, with a space for the laptop. (although, I have already had mine, which was a photography day with the wolves! which was a super present, so if youor thinking of buying something for that special photographer in your life, photography days are grrrrrreat!)

That is very kind of DPNow.

Something cheap and symbolic that can be easily mailed also to non UK DPNow users if possible.
For example a frame with our POTD, or some normal size & speed memory card, or spare camera battery, e.t.c

George

I don't mind if someone wants to give me a K10D. I wouldn't mind if they wanna give me some of those proposed Schneider lenses for my Birthday next September too. :D

If they don't - I s'pose I'd just have to spend my own savings instead of theirs.

If you insist,
Perhaps a digi SLR and two lenses covering 28 to 300mm preferably able to take C/Flash memory cards.

I'm thinking of setting up a studio in a spare room .
So a few lights and backdrops plus someone who can teach me to use them would be nice .

The Elinchron D-Lite (http://www.theflashcentre.com/) kit takes some beating for a portable and good value lighting system. A couple of Colorama rolls, possibly half width will be fine for portraits. You will no doubt need a flashmeter, a sync lead or IR trigger and you are set up. There aresome reasonably priced background support kits on Ebay too

I wouldn't mind one of those Spyder monitor calibration thingys - seeing that I can't use my Adobe one - failing that a photography or photoshop elements course might be fun

Six young blonds and a partridge in a pear tree. Oh and a loan of Bigbobs spare room. Now that would be nice.

I could do with a few lessosns from a pro, at least to be shown how to use my existing gear to its potential

Take no notice whatsoever of this greedy lot Ian. They are just taking advantage of your good nature.
Now me.....I would be quite happy with some small but useful extra such as a flash card, battery, cable release or even one of them there small bean bag thingies.

Not to be greedy,
but, I would like a whole year's worth of smiles to photograph.

And....for Sony to make an upgrade to my R-1.

This might be a bit old, but Yeah, My B-day is on the 17th December, witch is like 8 days before x-mas, (hint hint)

I would really like a Digital SLR (Preferable Canon) The most entry level available.

That would do the Trick. Cameras in South Africa, is just too expensive for a Young Lad like me, to get my hands on.

That is all that I would really want, thank you very much.

I've got my eye on a nice SB-600 Speedlight System flash for my nikon D70s(It's my first SLR! I just got it a couple months ago and I'm loving every bit of it) My mother bought it for me in hopes I'll FINALLY go to college for something at least. I would but I can't afford that either. Life of an artist right? :P

But honestly, I did just get the camera itself as a gift so I feel I don't really have rights to ask for much of anything right now. But a Merry Xmas/Christmas/Happy Holidays to everyone! :)

You could always ask, drop a few hints to Santa, his helpers and all yer relatives, friends and neighbours. Nothing ventured nothing gained. *LOL

I've just been looking through your gallery and deviantart collection. Lots of great stuff, I thoroughly enjoyed the browsing. I reckon the SB-600 Speedlight certainly wouldn't be wasted in your capable hands. ;)

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you too. :)

Oh my, thank you. :B)

And well, santa maybe, but my family and friends have already helped me so much with things that I couldn't really ask for more. That's ok, just means I have something to work towards. ^_^
