Nice one Peder,
I'll start this of with this portrait of my family. (From left: Mum, me, and my sisters Rosie and Dawn). It was all a bit rushed and the lighting was minimal and we had 6 children running around our feet. Anyway, here it is.

Sounds very decent of them t-up
Here is my offering. This is my freind Nikki. I was just walking past the back door here and she was outside having a smoke. (no-one is allowed to smoke in my house!).
I had the camera in my hand at waist level and just clicked as I know she would dodge the camera if I pointed it at her! Anyhow, this is the picture, I made it into B&W afterwards.
She is a nurse and had just finished work and was thinking about her hard day she just had.

In a completely different style, this is more in the 'Beauty/Portrait' genre of photographing women

Here's my entry. I took lots of the standard 'forced' wedding-type photos on this occasion, where the poses were set up by the official photographer and I cheekily stood next to him to grab some shots! This was my favourite though, my sister-in-law and her bridesmaids in a rare casual moment, when they weren't aware there were any cameras pointed at them.
I think they were quite sober at this point... by the end of the night it was a different story. *LOL

I have to agree with Autumn, the comment was puzzling and I too wondered what it referred to. I find it best to hit the quote button to avoid any confusion

OK! My last minute entry. Wasn't going to participate this time (not that I don't love the topic! It's one of my favorite subjects!) But I stumbled across this image cleaning up my folders and just had to post her. I've always known her as Mrs. Gerhard. If you would like to know who she is to me it's in the photo description. :)
(This photo is unedited aside from adding a border. I thought the glow almost fitting because I've always called her my earth bound gaurding angel! :) )

Taken in the Andes a couple of years ago. I was very uncomfortable taking this grab shot through a bus window, but felt compelled to record the intense and needy expression on this sad old lady's face. It still has a fairly profound effect on me to this day.

Hi Gina, Ian posted this yesterday.
jo
:o:o:o:o sorry jo, didn't see it.
Hi Peder - hope your feeling much better and back on the bike as soon as possible.
I know the feeling I fell skiing two weeks ago and have split the ligaments in my shoulder/collarbone - my mind tells me I'm still 21 but the body tells me it's 50 this year lol.
Take buddy
Dave R
Well I would rather see Peder judge this as he called this one so how about we use the "Alternative Competition" until Peder feels well enough to judge this one?
If not then who gets to decide, should we have a vote and let us all vote on the winner? :)
Sounds good to me ekkl.:D
coupekid

Get well soon Peder!
I think we should all vote on this, and maybe Peder can judge the next Salon.
My votes (if you want to take this option)
1) Gez
2) Ekkl
3)Stephen
What about doing a voting poll?
Just back from a trip....... looked to see who had won and found this news. So sorry Pedar, Get well soon!
Neil.
Stephen

What about doing a voting poll?
For what its worth, I'm not in favour of a poll or vote of any sort to decide the winner of Pedar's Salon.
It goes against the original idea and principle of the Salon competition. Something that should be decided by a single person, the one who sets the theme. The salon result is not to be decided by a vote of any sort.
So as to what should happen with this particular salon, I'm happy to let Ian decide a winner, or we just leave it till such time as Pedar can decide .
Wait till Peder is better then Stephen. Coupekid, Ekkl and I made a suggestion so that it wouldn't drag on too long and we can start a new one.
