Guys,
I posted this message in the photo critique forum but maybe it should be here too. I've looked all over but I can't find the rules and regs for posting photos - i.e. size, extentions etc. Seems like these should be very easy to find for new users.
Thanks,
j.

When you want to post a photo attachment ..... scroll down a little way below where you type in your message and click on the "manage attachment" button. That's where you'll see a list of which sort of attachments and file sizes are allowed. Up to 250k filesize is ok and dimensions depend on the typ of file.

I'm attaching a screenshot of the window you'll find find when you click on the "manage attachments" button

Yep, I've had to explain this a few times. Pol has covered it perfectly :)

JPEG files are limited to 1600 wide (for the occasional panorama) and 800 high and the file size has been increased from the old forum from 200K to 250K.

Ian, maybe you should post a 'sticky' about file sizes at the top of the critique forum, or perhaps on the 'Noticeboard' forum?

It'll give you an excuse to try out posting 'stickies' as well as making the attachment details more immediately visible. :D

I've just noticed a typo when I was looking at the screenshot.

4th one down - for the 'jpeg' - you've entered 25.0k instead of 250k.

I imagine most people will realise it's supposed to be 250k, assuming they notice the typo. I must admit I hadn't noticed until now.

Thanks Pol - it was actually not just a typo - that was the actual set limit, but I have corrected it now. :)

Thanks guys...the 'explanation post' was very understandable. If you can put it to be a little more obvious place or attach a sticky - perfect!
Thanks again,
jodz:D

Hi Jodz - it's already a sticky in the Photo critique board. I can see a forum tips board being created soon!
