I've just been reading this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7267412.stm
Is it a slow news day or something? Big headline reading "Hamilton could win title - Alonso".
Then, in the article, it just says that Alonso was asked if he thought Hamilton could win and he said "Possibly, yes."
Well of course that's what he said. Only a complete looney would think that Hamilton isn't one of a small few drivers would could possibly win this year.
Alonso then goes on to say:
"The two Ferraris and two McLarens will be able to fight for the championship," said Alonso.
"But if I have to name one then Ferrari and Kimi because he is the world champion and will be the driver to beat.
So why doesn't the headline read "Alonso tips Kimi to win WDC!"..? Simple, because having it sound like Alonso is favouring Hamilton starts the muck being raked, headling what he really says doesn't. Even the headline in the BBC's RSS feed says "Alonso tips Hamilton for title" - no he doesn't, he tips Kimi but says Hamilton's in with a chance. Just what any other sane person would say.
These reporters are just shysters. They can't stop from raking the muck, can they? They're sick.
