Here is a summary or excerpt from an article that has just been published on DPNow:

DPNow has set high standards for the Golden Gallery (http://dpnow.com/galleries/showgallery.php/cat/871) and only a small percentage of submissions have been accepted. We look at one particularly good image that was, nevertheless, rejected and explain why. -+- 4TFD More... (http://dpnow.com/4494.html)

I'd be happy to hear comments from others on this photo too Ian.

Hi,
The horizon t
I have read your comments Stephen. I usually am quite careful about horizon levels - must have slipped up this time. No the sky was not toned to match. It was late afternoon and this was the colour (white balance set on cloudy). And finally I do agree about the apparent traffic on the beach - the fact is the great stump was there, the clouds were there, the seagulls were there and despite the tracks the photo just had to be taken.

Those colours are wonderful and it's also an overall beautiful photo imho.

It's a shame about the horizon. I'm sure we all forget about correcting it occasionally - I know I do. :D

The tracks don't bother me actually - but I suppose they do tend to 'disturb the vision of isolation' now that the topic has been raised.

Hi Trev - I just want to say what a good sport you were for letting us critique your shot for the Golden Gallery. You have some excellent shots in your gallery that I hope you will consider for submission soon and I'm sure your will get a positive response :)

A really nice shot Trev which obviously nearly made it into the Golden Gallery.

If you have the opportunity to go back there (I've no idea if the location is local to you or not) then I reckon a lower viewpoint would make an even more dramatic picture and avoid any vehicle tracks being visible.

I'd also agree with Peder - you have some other shots in your gallery worthy of submission.
