Not sure what is going on here. I have a epson p2000 which works fine. Today I take it out with me and after filling a scandisk extreme 2gb card I try and download it onto the epson. The message on screen reads this memory card contains no data. Now I know this to be wrong because the camera reads the card fine. So after this happen I filled a cf card with the same raw files off the camera as would have been on the other card and they download fine. Does anybody know what is going on.

Have you tried another SD card? It could be the slot is faulty and if the same happens with a second card this would look almost certain. Sometimes it is no more than tarnished contacts. Inserting the card three or four times repeatedly can help re-establish a contact. Another trick is to breath on the card contacts just before inserting, the moisture from your breath reduces surface resistance.

Now here is the funny thing I only have one sd card but loads of cf cards. i will try the other tricks with the card that you have come up with and let you know how I get on.

Well I tried a different sd card and that worked just fine so it must be a issue with my card.

Hi Peter

Was the second sd card a 2 Gb one? If it was then may be your original is faulty, but if it is say 1 Gb or less and it works, it suggests to me that it could be the 2 Gb size that is the issue.

I use Canon Zoombrowser to download, but it never recognises 2 Gb cards whether sd or compact flash.

I have to use alternative methods to download. Also the 2 Gb card often makes my programs freeze.

I did wonder the same thing about the size of the card. The cf card was only 1 gb in size and the sd card I tried this morning was a lot smaller. I will buy a 1 gb sd card and see how that works.
