Its good to see the silly season, of leaked info, speculation of new models and people shouting 'Fake' has started again. I expect its the same in the Nikey forums, I heard a rumour of a FF Nikon coming this year, in yer dreams I reckon *LOL As for that 1Ds MkIII, well they will surely need some higher spec lenses to take advantage of the 22mp. Surely competition from Hassy won't force Canons hand *LOL

It's certainly coming up to two years since the 5D launch (http://dpnow.com/2035.html), so a replacement could be on the cards, but of greater importance, I'd have thought, would be the replacement of the 30D, the lack of which which is hurting Canon's mid-range sales to the benefit of, in particular, Nikon and their D200 and D80 models.

It would appear that this particular version is a fake and has been shown to be so HERE (http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1032&message=23864930)
Seems the guy who did it has even admitted he did it for fun.

The photo may be a fake but there is evidence of something in the air.
Jessops are saying the current 5D is now discontinued and no further stocks available.
The 30D production according to some rumour sites has stopped.
So will the replacement for both cameras be one new camera, or is Canon planning a double launch.
Considering its the anniversary year for the EOS system and there anniversary of the company as a whole, they haven’t done much in the way of product launch to celebrate.
Looks like opportunities lost to me.
