Suddenly Left Click on my mouse is very hard to press whilst Right Click I hardly have to touch. This is becoming quite tiring and has only happened today. What could have happened?
I did a defrag of Drive C: yesterday. Could this have done it or is the mouse just worn out?

Could it possibly have dirt, dust or maybe crumbs inside causing it to stick? Is it the sort of mouse you can take to bits, clean the inside the put it back together again?

Actually I suspect something had got inside it. I had cleaned it but can only remove the batteries, the pressy part doesn't appear to be getatable. I brushed it with my lens brush as it did seem to be improving and now it is almost back to normal.

I wouldn't want to clean my lens with it after using it on anything else. Hope it was a spare one. :)
Do you know, as soon as I wrote it I knew someone would pick me up for doing that.:\

These were my thoughts exactly Ron when I read that. I'm always concious of picking up residues on the brush which can then be transferred to the lens
I'd have thought a blower would have been a better thing to use anyway Audrey

I use a very large ladies makeup brush for such jobs, ie dusting the camera, but only use a lens brush occasionally on the lens.

I've just had to buy a new mouse for the same reason - reckon I wore the left button out playing 1st person shoot 'em ups (it's the fire button!). Nothing better than fragging someone with a rocket after a hard day at the office :D
I moved from a Logitech wired mouse to a Logitech wireless that uses a USB stick for connectivity. Works really well.

I bought a wiresless Logitech mouse & to begin with it was great, but in the last couple of days it seems to be playing up & being difficult to get cursor moving where I want it to go! Heavens, the thing is only 2 months old, if that! Mind you, I also defragged drive c recently, in the past week?????? Hope its a co-incidence!!!:eek:

Also can be a conflict with other software. Have you installed any new programs recently. I had problems similar to you and that was down to a Serif drawing package I installed.

Try pressing the antennae and then the button on your mouse. May be you are just losing the wireless signal and need to renew it.
How far is the wireless receiver unit from the mouse? If you have wifi, bluetooth, cordless phones, or other wireless devices around, the reliable working distance between a wireless mouse (and keyboard, for that matter) and receiver can be reduced to less than a foot.

My mouse is normally between 4 to 6 inches away from USB.....but as you may have gathered, I'm reading this thread after I took the mouse back & found that it needed only to have a battery replaced as Devilgas so rightly ascertained! However, we do have LAN wireless goodies etc, etc. I do sometimes sit with my mobile nearby as well, in case I'm called to work urgently! All this new technology is sometimes boggling me brain methinks! Audrey, I don't see no antennae on my mouse....it would look more like a cockaroach than a mouse if it had!!! The only antennae is on the Netgear stuff....wireless computer stuff for networks, as kids have laptops! Anyhow, thanks to everyone for their advice!

Perhaps it's not called an antennae. It's a USB Receiver and on mine I have to set the radio connection between the mouse and the receiver. Perhaps you don't have one of those.
