I have just updated Jalbum and thought I would try to use it. I clicked on Help and got the following - see attached screengrab:

However, I decided to look at their Help on the Web and followed the instructions to make an album.

During the "Making" of the album, the following Script Error was displayed. I suspect it may be to do with the Windows Media Error.

Exception caused by line 4: java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: 45

What does it all mean and how can I overcome this?

IIRC I have had other files that have tried to open with Windows Media Player, resulting in the same dialogue. I am wondering if it is a fault with WMP.

I look forward to any suggestions please.

This may just be a shot in the dark, but have you enabled Windows Media Player to open this type of file. I seem to recall that you get the option to select what type of files Media Player can open when you first install it.

Go to tools, options, file types to see.

I think it is faulty. It doesn't seem to open properly. It open with my folders but no "Tools" tab or any other tab at the top. I have suspected for some time it's a bit dodgy. I wonder if I can download another copy. What do you think?

I have redownloaded WMP but all the file type boxes are checked.:\

I have solved the problem. Possibly what you meant Ron, but I was looking on WMP to do the alteration!

This is the reply I received from another forum:

"Somehow, on your PC, files with a .html extension have become associated with WMP, instead of with your browser (probably IE). Launch Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer), and choose Tools, Folder Options, then the File Types tab. It'll take a few seconds to produce the list. Scroll down and find the entries for HTM and HTML, and make sure that each, when you click once on it, is associated with Internet Explorer, not WMP. If it's wrong, click Change, and choose the right application."

I actually use Firefox not IE.

It was so easy (when you know how).

I redownloaded JAlbum, clicked on "Help" and "Help" appeared.:) *clap *clap *clap

Glad to hear you have it sorted.
