If I'd have had a shotgun, we would have been eating Duck last night :D

Tim and I were doing some shots yesterday afternoon at old millpond not far out of Holmfirth. To be honest for one reason or another it wasn't really happening as well as we would have liked, though if you try its possible to always come away with something thats half decent.

Anyway I was trying to get a shot up the pond towards the sun, with the sluice valve in the foreground. The water was like a mirror and there were perfect reflections. As soon as I pointed the camera and crouched down to get the shot, the ducks flew in, landed and proceeded to swim towards me, destroying the shot I wanted :)

Needless to say they never got a taste of my butties

Now then, Yorkie .. that was mean and greedy as those friendly little ducks took the trouble of landing and swimming all the way along that cold water to greet you. :D

The ones that I always wanna throttle are the ones that decide to take off just as you manage to get them perfectly in the frame. :(

I have to echo what Stephen has said here; these little feathery "so and sos" seemed to know precisely when we were lining up shots of the water, because an hour earlier (at the other end of the pond), they'd done precisely the same thing - landed square in the middle of the calm water just as we were about to take shots. The should be a law against it, frankly...

Duck pate, anyone..?
