This is not one of my tribe, nor related to them. Twiggy is a stray found by my brother and adopted after she had several kittens in a barn next to the old farmhouse where he lives. He started feeding her and, when the kittens weren't surviving, brought her and the one survivor into the house. She was quite a mess, but is thriving now and has the loudest purr and the hardest "happy tread" I've come across!

She looks beautiful. Well taken image too. What's a Happy Tread?

We have a similar story with our rabbit. Mistreated - left in a small hutch in a dark barn for 2 years, hardly fed, never cleaned out. Now after 2 months in our flat she's so much happier, bounces all over the place and demanding strokes!

Thanks for the comment. We used to have a house rabbit, many years ago, and my son has continued the custom.

A happy tread is what you get when a cat is standing on your lap whilst being stroked and marches up and down on the spot in ecstasy... usually with their nails sticking right in your leg! *LOL

She's such a beautiful animal and a super picci too. :)

I've never been a 'cat' person, never owned one myself but one of our neighbour's cats came to visit regularly (until they moved away) and she had a powerful purr and an OUCH "happy tread" too. *LOL

The title instantly makes me remind of *whack

Beatles and Twiggy virtually represent UK those days in my imaginary world.
Yes, those were the days.

Maybe the cat was named after her? :)

That's a lovely photograph. She has obviously responded well to the new found love and attention.

Twiggy, the model, is still going strong here in the UK. She still does quite a lot of modelling and her daughter (Carly) works with Stella McCartney. So the 60s link between the two families is still alive and well.

Here's an interview with Twiggy (http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2009/sep/19/twiggy-at-60-interview) from a couple of years ago, at the time she turned 60.

And photos, by Bryan Adams, published at the time of the interview (http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/gallery/2009/sep/19/models-fashion-twiggy-photographs)

Great piccy Caz, give it just a slight boost in exposure and up the blacks a little :)
