Visitor messages and Private Mail

There is a feature on the forum that is not really required and can be confused with Private Mail, which is naturally very useful and that is Visitor Messages. The latter is a facility for leaving messages on someone's profile page. The messages remain public. As we have Private Messaging on here there is not much (any) need for Visitor Messages and so I have switched this facility off.

The visitor message facility was being used by spammers to circumvent their inability to post unacceptable links in their profile (or elsewhere) until they'd posted at least 6 posts in the forums.
