I seem to spend hours on this site looking for things and can never manage to find them easily!

Go to you user control panel (click on User CP link).
When you get into your user CP - click on the 'edit avatar' link on the left side column.

I forgot to mention that there's also a user test board where you can test and experiment with forum tools etc.
It's not often used but it can always be found HERE (http://dpnow.com/forum2/forumdisplay.php?f=29) any time you want to try something.
