View Full Version : DPNow Salon Competition No 87
OK so I had a little think about this and wanted something everybody could find something for. So the subject this time is well open to ideas and should be fun.
So here it is. "Summer and what it means to you".
This will run till the 17th of June so start posting and good luck.
The rules are as follows:
1. All photographs are to be uploaded to the photo gallery at http://dpnow.com/galleries/. They can be put in members own gallery if they wish. The resulting link generated for the foto/photo will then be pasted into the next available space in the salon tread. Please keep photos to a maximum of 800 pixel wide so people can see the whole image without scrolling.
2. One entry per user ID only please, which must be the personal work of the entrant.
3. Entries should be "in line" within the thread (not as links to an image held somewhere else)
4. Comments only on entries are welcome within the salon thread itself.
5. After the close the curator will indicate a winner and a couple of runners up.
6. The curators decision is final.
7. Winners should be offered first refusal to choose the next theme and curate the next salon.
8. If the winner is unable to curate the next salon the current curator may offer that "honour" to any willing volunteer, possibly the entrant in second or third place.
9. These rules are to be copied and pasted with the new theme by the curator at the top of the new salon thread with a finish date and time.
10. As with all photos posted on DPNow, copyright remains with the photographer and DPNow will not use them without permission.

3 great photos so far but I would have thought with this subject we would have had loads more by now. I know what I would have posted well maybe it will fit in to another salon one day :).

Great subject Peter!
Summer to me means nice strolls in the sunshine.
Taken on Sunday at Marwell Zoo, my little girl Elise, and my mates lil fella JJ, it was so sweet, they just decided to walk off together and was pointing at all the animals. Anyway, hope you like it.

I have to say, I was pleased with this, I know it doesnt look it, but the picture is mono, with the exception of the children (and some other little tweaks!)
They do grow far too quickly, part of me wishes I could keep her as she is right now!

Here I am in one special summer travelling in Egypt . In this picture, the guide stopped the car to have "Tea". It was incredible.

I have to say, I was pleased with this, I know it doesnt look it, but the picture is mono, with the exception of the children (and some other little tweaks!)
They do grow far too quickly, part of me wishes I could keep her as she is right now!

Yes, it really it a lovely natural photo Ben. I just love it every time I look at it. It's amazing how she really looks the little girl and her friend looks the little boy. Love her frilly shorts.

Squeezing in my contribution before the deadline. Summertime in Canada (among many other places in the world, I'm sure) is also well known for being "forest fire season". Here is a picture of a water bomber flying through the river to gather water for a small forest fire we had near our community. The water bombers must not require much depth to gather the water, as the river is quite shallow in this area (likely only about 3 feet deep).

All super photos here which did not make my job easy but I have picked a winner :).
1st was Gina :) A great candid photo of a lovely young child.
2nd Coupekid :) Not always a fan of that sort of colour popping but it did work well there. Always good to see kids enjoying a day out.
3rd Kurt:). This is something I see a lot over here and even more so in the summer.
So it's over to Gina now. Put your thinking cap on and see what you can come up with :):)
