There is a short video on the Lightroom Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10100211379236190&ref=mf) site this morning which previews a new feature that will be in Lightroom 3 and CS5 ACR6. Its basically a lens correction facility that will correct any lens distortion, like curved horizons, barrel distortion, pin cushion effect and even converging verticals. They will, to begin with, include a series of lens profiles, mainly Canon & Nikon it seems, and a simple click will do much of the adjustments, absolutely brilliant.

Ah! you beat me to it! :)

Although you are right in saying that only Canon and Nikon lens profiles will be provided initially, the really important fact is that Adobe will be providing test chart image files and instructions for creating your own lens profiles so in no time at all I think that all the popular lenses will be profiled by keen users, and even the lenses in compact cameras too.

This is quite a challeng to DxO Optics Pro it has to be said, although I think DxO may have a technical advantage with its carefully prepared lens profiles that are tightly integrated with camera body/sensor corrections.
