What a huge, huge dissappointment!
I for one will certainly not be upgrading from my 20D now as I expect many others will not do. I was expecting far more.
Spot metering..yes one of the points on my wish list, but Canon have still failed to address the major problem in their camera's of removing dust from the sensor. This for me is a serious flaw in DSLR's and I'm almost to the point where I don't whant to change lenses out doors! And where's those 10m+ pixels everyone was talking about. The screen on the 20D is next to useless unless indoors, but I suspect this 2.5inch one won't be that much improved.
There's just not enough in this new camera to warrant an upgrade and it smacks of synical commercialism to keep prices up with absolutely no new technology. Perhaps I'm being harsh, but I'm still smarting over the way Canon shut down the 7dayshop for selling us Canon lenses at US prices. Why do us brits have to pay twice the price?
One more point..ergonomics. If you take shots inlow light or at night these cameras are difficult to operate. How about some tactile butons, or buttons of different shapes for different funtions instead of all the buttons the same and in a row!
I guess we'll just have to wait another 18 months!
