Memory leader unveils USB 2.0 memory card reader/writer, with the ability to read 8 different types of card

Dane-Elec, Europe's leading manufacturer and distributor of memory modules for home and professional computing, digital photography and telecommunications, today announces the launch of its USB 2.0 8-in-4 memory card reader/writer.

As the name suggests, the 8-in-4 reader/writer is able to rapidly transfer data directly between the eight types of memory card that it supports, to a Mac or PC. This brand new design has four slots to accommodate Compact Flash I and II, as well as Micro Drive, Smart Media, Multi Media or Secure digital cards, as well as Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro.

Compact and lightweight at only 28 grams, the USB 2.0 8-in-4 is equipped with a USB 2.0 link, and can be directly connected to a PC or laptop. It is fully compatible with Windows 98/98SE, W2K, ME, XP, and MAC OS 9.2.2, 10.1.5, and 10.2.3. In order to operate the reader/writer Windows 98 users require a driver, which can be downloaded directly from the Dane-Elec website located at www.dane-elec.com, all other Windows Operating Systems utilise the built-in Mass Storage Driver. The unit consumes less than 500mA, and is delivered with a one metre long USB cable.
