blithe is our first Picture of the Day photographer this week and we're featuring a seaside scene from Beadnell Harbour, North Sunderland. According to the image exif data this shot was taken in the morning although it looks just like an evening sunset shot. I like the way the harbour wall and the lobster/crab pots are semi-silhouted against the low sun. The lighting in the darker areas is just right and makes for a nice three dimensional feel for the scene. The composition is very nicely balanced between the darker wall and its contents and the glow if the sky towards the right. It's a peaceful and satisfying picture.
