Dark reflection, by Josh Bear

Josh Bear has wowed us with is painstakingly arranged flower still-lifes, his travel photography, and the photography of his young kids Abbi and Fynn. But he's also a pretty good landscape photographer and here is some proof from the early days of the DPNow users gallery back in 2006. This is a moody image with the darkness and foreboding of the rising land to the right and the immediate foreground. The far distance is slightly obscured by mist while the land to the left looks pleasant and green. Up above the cloudy sky sits between the two extremes. This is almost a metaphor for darness and light, evil versus good, but above all it's a jolly good landscape that makes great use of the scene at hand and, of course the reflection on the water.
